Triple wishes for 2022:
Climate change pauses, plastics melt, viruses recede… hollow hopes?
Are we frogs in lukewarm water?
In reality, frogs jump out before being boiled.
Seeking higher ground.
But where there is more exposure to lightning strikes…
December, brutally cold, nevertheless brought the solstice and reassurance that the days will begin lengthening and that warmer weather will return, heralding in fruits with pips, swimming dips and trips on ships. Maybe.
Christmas was a week back with western festive food, now it’s time forおせち料理 which kickstarts the day tomorrow. And perhaps to sketch a resolution or two while humming the Marseillaise. We can but hope.
