Monologue on the CoCo bus…

We’re passing the sports ground, first stop coming up. Nobody getting off here? OK, passing without stopping.

CoCo bus:
Heart of Koganei Community

Level crossing coming up.  Train passing. Please wait a minute. Okay, bit bumpy crossing the tracks. Hold tight.

Next stop is the Mizoguchi Clinic. Those with mobility issues, take it slowly. No hurry. Opening both the front and back doors. Exit whichever one is convenient for you.

Thank you. Doors closing.

There’s some road repairs at the next corner. We’ll pause here a minute to let the dump truck pass. Under way again.

Turning right now, the bus will shake a bit. Hold tight as we turn left into Kuriyama Road.

Arriving at our destination, the station. Please wait a bit. Backing up now. Just sit where you are until we’ve come to a complete stop.

Voice-over

A slightly wordy but comforting driver. A mixture of stream of consciousness, instructions and reassurance. The dentist is similar. OK, we’re finishing up the second stage of cleaning. Removing the towel from your face. Raising the chair. Now you can  rinse and gargle. The passengers reply to the bus driver, but it’s more difficult with the dentist.
