T-shirt message as conversational starter

...

Lunch on Keong Saik Road:

Henri: Amateur photographer.
Horst: Why?

Henri: The message on the back of her T-shirt.

“THESE ARE SOME

REALLY NICE

PICTURES YOU’VE

T A K E N

WHERE DID YOU

LEARN TO BE

SUCH A GOOD

PHOTOGRAPHER ?”

Just got to be one. I have to get a picture of her T-shirt.

Horst: Going to ask?

Henri: I’ll just pretend to be taking a general interior shot of the food court. Blow up the detail later.

______________

Voice-over

iPhones are discreet to use but not so easy for capturing far-off subjects. They require a steady hand in low-light conditions.

The message on the T-shirt engages attention. Did the wearer commission the T shirt design? Was it a question which was actually asked of the wearer sometime? Was it a question the wearer asks of us to engage her in conversation?

You will be thought of as a professional photographer when you can take a photo which clearly shows the message on the back of her T-shirt?
