Keynes: The Essential Economist Excerpt

A biography on an economist…
JKG: He wasn’t only an economist. This book, Universal Man: The Seven Lives of John Maynard Keynes by Davenport-Hines. Shows his many sides.

JFK: The seven lives?

JKG: Altruist, boy prodigy, public man, official, lover, connoisseur and envoy.

JFK: He did a lot of things then?

JKG: And did them well. He was an economist, of course, but he was also a negotiator, a politician, a successful investor, an art collector, supported the drama and music, and even kept pigs.

JFK: A universal man, a renaissance man, a polymath.
